June 30, 2011

I am not going to write anything today. My Dad had emergency brain surgery. But, here are the things that brought me a little joy that day.

1. Great for this holiday weekend.

2. I know they are no longer a couple, but I always loved this dress.

3. This is too fun and adorable.

4.J Brand jeans and T-shirt w a Chanel jacket,Casadei pumps and Paige Novick cuff.

5. Dr. Drew- His shows that I DVR'd helped me to take my mind off my Dad.

5. This song just gives me hope....Everythings gonna be allright...

I leave you all w this:

June 28, 2011

OK, I LOVE my dog. Love, love, love her. She is like my 3rd daughter. I bought her a bathing suit some time back and we finally got to use it. M#1 and her boyfriend took Lily to a nearby park that has a pond and Lily went swimming for the first time. She also made some new little friends.
I love the little ruffle on the bottom of the suit. M#1 is holding her.

She will be going again. M#2 and I will be going next time.

Here is what else makes me smile today.

1. If you rub a waxed candle UNDER painted wood, then you will get a distressed look. I would love to try this idea, but not sure what piece of furniture I might use, yet.

2. Anne Hathaway pic that will be in the Aug 2011 issue of Harpers Bazaar

3. I don't like the combination of the black and white purse, the yellow dress and the champaign colored platforms, but I adore those platforms, so I have to share it.
4. Cute top. From Farinaz.com
5. I wish she didn't stop doing the show. She has great ideas, she is honest and yet she is so cute and bubbly. Her accent is pretty cool, too, :)

5. Bette Midler, "Wind Beneath my Wings"

I leave you all w this:
"For all you mothers out there, I wanna tell you I'm looking for a parrot that can say "Stop "Get out of bed." , "Be quiet.", "Get out of bed." and "Turn that down." This would save so much time! LOL."

June 26, 2011

The girls went to a mall in the area to see Selena Gomez. She was there to promote her new movie, "Monte Carlo". The 2 M's and M#1's boyfriend waited 6 hrs to see her. I felt kind of bad for the M's because it seemed not to be how they thought it would be, but once they got home and the day went on, they talked more and more about it and it seemed like they did have a fun time. I am actually proud at their patience and persistance that they never left until they got to see her.

Once they got home, we went to my parent's house. My Uncle from Arizona was visiting and we had dinner and spent some time w him. I was not myself because I am still feeling down about not getting that job. I did not expect for this lost job opportunity to bring my self-esteem down so much. I have tried to remember all those great motivational quotes that I believe in and love passing on to others. My visit was not as well as it should have been. I feel bad, but things really are making me smile again. I am going to move forward and see the good and not focus on the bad. This is my public promise. :)

This was Salena Gomez at the mall. It was not taken by my girls. I found this pic on people.com, but this is the event the girls went to.

Salena is on the right side of the stage. The screen in the background makes her look more like a siloutte. But, you see she is wearing that white sweater from the people.com pic.

On my way to my parent's house.

Drumroll.......Here is the debut of M#1!!! She is always with her friends, so its hard to get pics of her.

My Mom and my Uncle. He is such an awesome person.

My corgi Foxy.

Foxy really is not mine. But, she's my parents, so she's mine.

OK, so now the things that made me smile today:
1. Inspiration for what I would like in my dining room. Coffee or tea, anyone?

2. Picture from my friend, Brian Luenneman. He takes THE MOST amazing pictures. I hope to show you more. I asked him if he ever thought abt showcasing his work. He is so talented, but he said he is not good at self-promotion. I wish I lived in Alaska, where he lives. I would do it for him. But, I feel blessed that I get to see the beauty he finds in nature.

3. I don't know where this is at, but I LOVE this door!

4. This pic is super cute. That's exactly the look Lily would have on her face if I ever put her in a car seat.

5. Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss- It is sooo motivating, especially w all the weight I gained this past yr.

5. Stealers Wheel, "Stuck in the Middle". Great song, added to a great movie. :)

So, I leave you all with this today:

June 24, 2011

I really don't have much to smile at today. I found out today that I did not get the job I have been vying for, for the past month. I'm pretty down, but I did find some happiness and motivation in these items today.

1. Eventhough I lost out on something that can bring my family our old life back, I can at least try to get back in shape and try to look like her. Plus, her hair is the bomb!

2.If  ever get a good job again, I would love to save up $ and go to Australia. For now, I'll stare at this pic.

3. I want this table and runner and many nights of entertaining family and friends with delicious meals, good company, laughter and a lot of love!

4. Puppies always make me smile. These are 7 Female English Mastif puppies.

5. This show is crazy. The  people they deal w crack me up sometimes.

5. Life, "Falling In"....I would love to be someone's home. I'm ready.

I leave you all with this:
Instructions after a bad day. Have a big piece of chocolate cake and a glass of milk. Repeat as needed.

June 23, 2011

I've been having some computer issues this wk, so I have been unable to keep up on my posts. I have taken pictures, though, so I thought I would share them w you before I post what makes me smile today.

This is one of the items I bought M#2 during our shopping trip last wk. I got this romper for her @ Forever 21.

M#1 bought these shorts @ Forver 21.

M#2 also bought this cute skirt at Forver 21.
I bought these shorts for M#2. I also got them in black.

M#2 got this tank @ JC Penney from my Mom. As you can see, Lily is starting to make her way into my pics, as usual.

M#2 got this T-shirt @ American Eagle. And there is Lily. Her master plan worked!

Bath and Body Works had a great sale going on. Here is just a sampling of goodies bought.

Here's M#2 trying to act all shy while playing PS3 w one of her buddies. She had a lazy day after all her retail power shopping.
OK, I am not very happy w this pic. But, I need to face reality. I have gained weight since I lost my job. A LOT of weight. I am 5'3" and I weigh 155 lbs in this pic. I never publicly disclose my weight, but I need to take ownership of this mess. Anyway, I got the dress from Dots and the shoes from Ann Taylor. I am not sure you can see, but Lily has found her way in my pic again. She is my shadow. :)

I took Lily for a drive the other day. Boy, she loved the freedom of the air flapping through her ears. She was in heaven.

Here is what I wore today:
Top-Kohls
Tank underneath-I can't remember
Skirt-Given to me by my Mom
Sandals-Jessica Simpson
And again...Lily in the pic.

I was also wearing this ring from Charlotte Russe.

Here's another view.

And here is the cute sweatshirt I got at Carson Pirie Scott for $4.97, but thanks to the wonderful cashier, I really got this sweatshirt for $3.87.

Ok, now I am all caught up w the miscellaneous pics, now here is the things that are making me smile today:

1. Another recipe I am going to try. Mint julip cupcakes, yum! BTW, I made the lime cilantro rice and it turned out AMAZING!

2. I'm not a Scarlette Johannsen fan right now, but I am a fan of this Roland Mouret dress.

3. These sterling silver earrings w the gemstones are hand crafted and to die for!

4. Wrigley Field always makes me happy. Even if there is a rain delay.

5. Just watched this movie. Excellent.

6. Hoobastank, "Crawling in the Dark"

I leave you all with this:
