July 28, 2011

Ahhh, for the 1st time this week I am relaxing at home. I have been so busy now that I am working. My commute is very long, so by the time I get home and cook dinner, I don't have much time left in the evening before I have to get some shut eye. I love working again, Thank God! But, of course, there are sacrifices to that. I went from being at home ALL THE TIME, to never being at home. I've rarely seen my girls this week :(  Yesterday, I went to see my Dad at the hospital and tonight the girls are both staying w friends. So, it's Lily and me tonight. I miss not being around my daughters, but I just have to take each day as it comes. I've really been forced to have this mindset bc of my Dad's situation and this crazy up and down journey he has been through. I can't feel guilty for not being w the girls when I am at work or not seeing my Dad enough if I am home w the girls. I have to live in the moment, embrace it for what it is and have no guilt. Live it, own it and love it. So, that's what I am doing right now.

Here are some other things I am loving today:

1. Anona style silver pumps from Shoedazzle.
2. These beautiful bracelets that I found on-line some time ago and saved, but can't remember where I saw these. Maybe I can find bracelets similiar to these somewhere else.

3. Club Blue platforms from ShoeDazzle. Think I'm dreaming about shoes today?

4. Julianne Hough with 2 puppies in her carrier. The one in the back looks cute, peeking out to make sure he or she is in the pic. I love this picture.

5. LA Ink-I'm watching this right now. I've always watched this show, so I'm trying not to think about the whole Jesse James debacle.

5. THE BEST version of "Hey Jude" evah!!!

Remember, no outfit is complete w/out the perfect pair of shoes.

July 22, 2011

Hi, everyone. The past couple of weeks have been crazy w my Dad, but today is a good day. He is finally breathing on his own and more alert. I am smiling from ear-to-ear today. Also, I got a job! A great job. I will be covering 12 different hospitals and training the staff on a new computer application that will be implemented. The timing is crazy, because I think of my Dad all day, but I know he would have been dissapointed that I didn't take it. I know he's happy that I got the job. M#2 confiscated my camera and I'm on a hunt for it, so now pics of what I am wearing today, but here are other things that make me happy today:

1. Zamora Turqouise shoes from Shoe Dazzle. I could so rock these!

2. I love the chairs and the table. They would look great in my dining room. I also think that glass block window on the upper left of the pic.
3. This is an awesome idea. I plan on doing at home. In the jar are events throughout the year that were memorable to us. At the end of the year, we are going to open the jar and read what is on the strips of paper.

4. 500 Days of Summer-Loved it! It made me dislike Zooey Deschanel for 1 minute...just a minute and then I got over it. She's too wonderful.
5. This show makes me laugh. What a great cast.

6. Lady Gaga "The Edge of Glory"

I leave you with this:

July 14, 2011

I will not be blogging for at least a few days, maybe longer. My Dad is gravely ill and I am not sure what the next few days will bring. So, if you happen to come across this blog, even for the 1st time, please say a prayer for a wonderful man you have never met and his great family. We are all connected through God and all share similiar joyous moments, as well as the same struggles. We are all brothers and sisters sharing the world at this time, so please, please pray for one of your brothers to keep fighting, so he can continue to bring a smile to MANY people's faces for many, many days to come.

July 13, 2011

I do not have a personal picture today. But, here are some other things that make me smile today:
1. I love the ribbon on this pillow. This would look cute in my bedroom.

2. This pink baby shower cake is much better than the standard sheet cakes. It looks much more elegant.

3.Stella McCartney dress, Tiffany & Co earrings, Salvatore Ferragamo clutch and Christian Louboutin heels.
4. Great message. Luv you, Pooh!

5. I laugh so hard everytime I watch his show. My brother introduced me to Tosh. I don't know whether to thank him or curse him. Ha,ha!

6. Metallica, "For Whom the Bell Tolls" When I was waaay younger, I went through a phasse where I was heavily(pun intended) into Heavy Metal. Not so much now, but I still enjoy listening to my old school loves.

You know, I was thinking how life is not perfect. Perfection only comes from a plastic factory in China-her name is Barbie, that bitch has everything!

July 10, 2011

Didn't do much today. Took this pic just before taking Lily for a walk. Please excuse the mess around us. My bistro set is a little mess. I have to set my table back up. There is a loose screw that needs to be fixed and she doesn't want fixin' :), so who knows when that will get done. Naw, this coming week, I really want to dedicate some time this week to really cleaning and organizing things, so hopefully that table will be back up. I'm really craving Mimosas for some odd reason, so I might have to make the cleaning and organzing more fun by having a few glasses of OJ and Champagne fun.

Earrings: Target
Top:Charlotte Russe
Capris-?
Flip flops-Walmart

These are the earrings I wore. I have a matching necklace, which I got for Christmas from my girls a few years back.

Making me smile today:

1. Butterflies
2. Desserts, Cupcakes and Candy Pedestal Jars.
3. Alexander Wang dress
4. Japanese Garden
5. Real Housewives of NJ

6. Staind "Me"

"You're not going to win by automatically going out there. It's hard to know what people really expect of you, and I've never tried to live up to expectations anyway. That's no way to play baseball."
-Greg Maddux
That's no way to live life either, don'tcha think?

July 9, 2011

It's 1:30am and so it's technically the 9th, but I didn't blog about anything yesterday, so there might be 2 blogs today. We'll see. I've been sleeping a lot and have been up during some odd hours. I want so badly to go to sleep, but I can't now. I tried. So, maybe blogging about my "smileys" it might relax me enough to get some zzzzzz's.
1. Ever since I was in High School, I have wanted a pair CL's. At least one pair would be a dream come true.

2. Great print.

3. Rice Krispie pops. The whole process is super simple, just make rice crispy treats (directions on the box), cut into 1″ x 1″ x 3″ rectangles, add a candy stick, dip in melted chocolate and enjoy!
4.These would be wonderful contenders for interview ensembles.
5. I have never been a huge fan of country music until this past yr, but I am beginning to really enjoy this genre of music. This awards show was broadcasted the beginning of June and I am now getting around to watching it.

6. The Black Eyed Peas "Just Can't Get Enough"

-James Freeman Clarke

So....here are the things that make me happy today:
1.Black Alternative tee and Brian Atwood peep toes.

2. This is at one of my friend's house. I want this for my balcony.

3. Jack Osborne and his bulldog. Too cute.

4. Paintbrush
5. The Moms on this show crack me up.

6.Elton John "Don't Go Breaking My Heart"

Just in case you don't know:

Sex alleviates tension. Love causes it. -Woody Allen

July 7, 2011

I woke up this morning to watch the Casey Anthony sentencing. I'm not going to get into how I feel about that trial and the verdict, but I did find it interesting to watch the court proceedings.

I went to go see my Dad at the hospital. He actually got discharged later on in the evening. I had a nice visit with him, but we both got emotional at the end of the visit. I don't want to get into all the details, but I ask whoever out there that may read this, please pray for him.

After I saw my Dad, I went down one floor to go see my Grandma. She was in the hospital, too! But, she was doing very well. She was Miss Diva, wearing a gold robe, talking on her cell phone when I walked in. It was funny. I wanted to take a picture, but I don't think she would have wanted me to. Our visit went just fine and I stayed longer than I anticipated.

As I was headed out of the hospital, I passed the gift shop. I stopped, turned around and decided to go in. I will show you the goods below. I little retail therapy helped, somewhat.

I got another job opportunity. I could be working as early as July 18th. Of course, I am excited, but I don't want to get too much into this subject, yet, because losing the last opportunity was rather dissapointing. I just want to be calm about it. If I get the job, then I'll pass on all the deets.

Lily needed dog food today, so we went to Pet Smart. Lily loves everyone, but she gets sooo crazy that she makes people nervous sometimes. She barks like crazy and it sounds like someone is killing her. It's kind of embarrasing. While I was there, I remembered that I had to buy nail clippers because the poor thing really needs them trimmed. So, tomorrow will be the big day. Wish me luck! I don't want to hurt the poor thing.

1. Shirt dress with belt-Rainbow
2. Blue top-thrifted
3. Sandals-Jessica Simpson (one of the nurses taking care of my Grandma complemented me on them).
M#1 joined into the fun.
1. Navy top-Hollister
2. Necklace-Forever 21
3.Jeans American Eagle
4. Flip flops-Victoria Secret

I hung this up on the kitchen. I wished I had better handwriting, so it would look cool. Maybe I should just draw a big heart or one word, like peace. Suggestions, please. I like this quote, but I can't make it look pretty. M#1 has good handwriting, maybe I can have her write something that looks pretty. M#1 says she likes the quote and it looks just fine.
This is the top to a candle I bought supporting breast cancer.

I plan on putting these stones on my balcony.

Here are other things that make me smile:

July 6, 2011

I'm feeling under the weather today, but these items make me smile.

1. Tanglewood from Shabbyapple.com

2. Cathederal in Costa Rica.

3. Vintage Ephemera no2
4. A sample of hair clips that my friend makes. She sells them for $7.

5. Yes, I am watching this again. Right now as I write this, a young guy is selling drugs to help take care of his crippled Mom. Now, that doesn't make me smile, but the officer did not arrest the kid and offered him help. :)

6. Jay-Z/Alicia Keys "Empire State of Mind"

I leave everyone with a funny suggestion:
For those of you who go to Wal-mart...To make your visit there more interesting, walk up to the Customer Service desk. When they say, "Hello, how may I help you?, respond with "Yes, I'll have a quarter pounder with cheese and fries." Hee, Hee. :)

July 5, 2011

M#2 wanted to go to downtown Naperville with some of her friends. So, I drove them over to town and dropped them off in front of the Apple Store. I went home and one of M#2's friend's Mom was going to bring her back home. I have been having a problem lately with parents always expecting me to drop off and pick up for every play date, every sleepover and any other activity M#2 makes plans for. I have finally put my foot down and told M#2 that from now on, I am only driving one way and one of the parents would have to drive the other way or her plans are a no-go. I feel bad, but I feel sometimes that I am being taken advantage of and it bothers me. What do you guys think? Am I doing the right thing?

Enough of that. When M#2 came home she was all banged up. She fell while downtown and scraped her arm, leg and one of her toes. I felt so bad for her. I gave her a huge hug(probably a little harder than normal because of the death of Caylee Anthony, but I won't get into that). Lily tried to lick Marisa's war wounds, which was sweet, but we tried to get her to stop.

I continued my job search today and I am going to apply to some thrift stores in the area for part-time work. Just a little something would be helpful to us. Just as long as I don't spend what I earn in the store!

1. Headband-Sally's Beauty Supply.
2. Bracelet-My Aunt's. She passed away 2 years ago.
3. Navy Dress-Rampage
4. Black Top-Charlotte Russe
5. Gladiator Sandals-Jessica Simpson from Nordstrom.
2. Here is a close-up of my Aunt's bracelet. I feel lucky to have it.

3. One of my baby's boo-boos.

4. M#2 giving Lily a piggy back ride. Silly girls.

Here are other things that make me smile today:
1.Lace necklace from Etsy-Adrienne and Audrey

2. Would love this print in my hallway. What color and depth!

3. Rosie Hungtington Whitely

4. Makes me want to be on a yacht.
5. The Original.

5. Candlebox, "You"

I leave you with this tip today:
Take a 10-30 minute walk daily. And while you walk, smile.
